Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Eastern Incheon Branch Delivers “A Warm Hand for Senior Citizens in Need of Beauty Care”
“I've been waiting for today because you cut my hair so beautifully last time.”
On the 12th November, a senior citizen at the Solseop Senior Welfare Centre in Incheon, Republic of Korea, greeted members of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Eastern Incheon Branch with these words.
The hair and beauty care volunteer service has been provided monthly by the Eastern Incheon branch since July of this year, in response to a request made by the Welfare Centre.
The service is part of the 'Beautiful Seniors' programme, which supports a healthy and happy retirement under the slogan ‘One beautiful day is beautiful enough.’ The programme is a regular volunteer activity of Shincheonji Volunteer Group conducted nationwide.
On that day, volunteers with many years of experience in hairdressing participated in the service while chatting with the senior citizens.
An elderly person who had her hair cut looked at her trimmed hair with a pleased expression and said to the volunteers, “Thank you for cutting my hair so beautifully every time.”
An official from the Eastern Incheon branch said, “We will continue to strive to provide services that bring joy to the seniors by considering them as our parents.”
