“It was difficult to use the Dang-hyeon stream because there were a lot of fallen leaves and litter, so I am grateful that the volunteers came forward.”

This is an expression of gratitude by a resident and wheelchair user who witnessed the Eastern Seoul Branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group (hereinafter referred to as the Eastern Seoul Branch) carry out its 'Green Nature' leaf-cleaning event in the area around Dang-hyeon Stream.

On that day, a total of 40 volunteers participated and collected approximately 6250 litres of illegally dumped waste and fallen leaves during the winter.

An official from the Seoul Eastern Branch said, “We wanted to resolve the inconveniences in the lives of residents and contribute to their safe travel.”

Meanwhile, the nationwide 'Green Nature' campaign of Shincheonji Volunteer Group is purposed to preserve a beautiful nature and environment for posterity by carrying out wetland conservation activities, environmental cleanups to protect major facilities and cultural assets, disaster recovery activities, public awareness campaigns for environmental protection, and the creation of flower paths in waste dumping areas.
