The Dongdaemun branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group was awarded a commendation for volunteer work by Dongdaemun-gu District Mayor Pil-hyung Lee on the 5th December.

The award was given in recognition of their contributions to the development of the local community through volunteer activities over the past 10 years since 2015.

The key campaigns include Carbon Neutrality Practice Campaign that informs citizens of the dangers of abnormal climate issues and encourages the practice of carbon neutrality; 'Wall Story', an urban regeneration project that restores dilapidated murals through drawings and paintings; 'Beautiful Seniors', which supports a healthy and happy retirement under the slogan ‘One beautiful day is beautiful enough’; and the Street Cleaning campaign.
