Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daejeon-Chungcheong Branch Holds 10th 'Filial Piety Banquet'

“Today's event is a precious time for us to reflect on the meaning of filial piety towards our elders and share warmth with one another. We hope that our elders will always be healthy and happy, and we will do our best to make our local community warmer and more harmonious in the future.”
Director Bang-sik Jang of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daejeon-Chungcheong Branch said this during a commemorative speech given at the '10th Filial Piety Banquet', held at the KW Convention Center in Seo District, Daejeon on the 9th December.
The 'filial piety banquet' has been held for the past 10 years to convey gratitude and respect to the senior citizens in the community and to promote the importance of treating one's elders with respect.
On that day, Sang-do Park, the chairman of the Daejeon branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, said, “Filial piety is a natural law, and it is the duty of a human to respect their father and mother,” and expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am grateful for the volunteer work that the Shincheonji Volunteer Group has done over the past 10 years.”
On that day, the Daejeon-Chungcheong Branch received a plaque of appreciation from the Marine Corps and the press for practising the value of sharing with the seniors in the region through volunteer activities and filial piety programmes.
