Shincheonji Volunteer Group Icheon Branch 'Restores Yeoju Flower Farm Damaged by Heavy Snow' in Sub-Zero Weather

“I cried and laughed every day with a sense of emptiness, and my heart felt heavy whenever I looked at the greenhouse. I don’t know how to express my gratitude to the volunteers who helped restore what was lost.”
These are the words of a farm owner, whose flower farm in Heungcheon Town, Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province, was severely damaged when 14 greenhouses collapsed under the weight of the snow due to heavy snowfall.
At the request of the Icheon City Volunteer Center, 30 members of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Icheon Branch gathered in sub-zero temperatures to carry out restorative work on the flower farm in question on the 16th December. The volunteers repaired the collapsed vinyl greenhouse structure and moved the flower pots inside to the new facility.
Meanwhile, Icheon City announced that last month, a record amount of snow of up to 43 cm fell, causing damage to 14 townships and wards, including the collapse of greenhouses, resulting in a total of 2274 cases and 37.3 billion won (c.£20 million) in damage.
