Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gwangmyeong Branch, 2024 Carbon Neutral Settlement “2.1 Tonnes of Waste Amassed”

“These volunteers, who I regularly see come out, are a great help in keeping the streets of our region clean. I hope this kind of work continues in the future.”
These are the words of a Gwangmyeong citizen who witnessed the carbon neutral campaign conducted by the Gwangmyeong Branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group (hereinafter referred to as the Gwangmyeong Branch) on the 24th.
The Gwangmyeong branch raised awareness of the importance of carbon neutrality in the region through a carbon neutral environmental campaign and street cleaning activities. It has recorded a total of 115 cumulative volunteers, 157 campaign participants, and 2.1 tonnes of litter collected.
Gwangmyeong Branch is conducting practical environmental protection activities in Gwangmyeong City, which has a large floating population, in line with various programmes operated by the Gwangmyeong City Council to move towards a sustainable carbon neutral city.
The director of the Gwangmyeong City Volunteer Center sent a message of support, saying, “The volunteer work of the Gwangmyeong branch is a great help in practising carbon neutrality in the local community.”
