Shincheonji Volunteer Group Cheongju Branch Conducts Gyeongcheon Stream Cleanup
The Cheongju Branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group conducted a cleanup of Gyeongcheon Stream on the 6th as part of its regular 'Green Nature' campaign.
The area around Gyeongcheon Stream regularly suffers from flood damage due to heavy rain, and the area has caused a nuisance to local residents due to the filthy landscape created by the merging of old sewage pipes.
On that day, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Cheongju Branch rolled up their sleeves to clean up the river and collected the piles of litter strewn along the roads around Gyeongcheon Stream.
Residents who were walking along Gyeongcheon Stream said, “Thank you for coming here so often and working so hard. Whenever I go for a walk, the surroundings look so clean and it makes me feel good.”
Meanwhile, the 'Green Nature' campaign of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, held nationwide, carries out wetland conservation activities, environmental cleanups to protect major facilities and cultural assets, disaster recovery activities, public awareness campaigns for environmental protection, and the creation of flower paths in illegal waste dumping areas to preserve a beautiful nature for posterity.
