“If you don’t know, you have to learn in order to have faith. You can't just believe without reason. Faith comes when you understand fully. You have to understand the absoluteness of the Bible.”
With such conviction, Chairman ManHee Lee emphasised the importance of a 'Bible-centred faith' during a sermon to around 20,000 of the faithful gathered at the Cheonan Church of the Matthias Tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (hereinafter referred to as 'Shincheonji Cheonan Church') at Sunday service on the 22nd November. Around 100 local pastors also attended the service.
On that day and full of anticipation for the words of the Bible, the congregants gathered outside the church, cheering and waving placards and balloons to welcome the Chairman's arrival. The congregants also gave a special performance.
Taking to the pulpit during the service, Chairman ManHee Lee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, who is 94 years of age, opened the sermon by encouraging the congregation with the question, “Every believer must ask themselves, ‘Who am I according to the Bible?’”
He continued, “Many people will be able to attain salvation only if they practise true faith according to God’s will,” and “They should not do it with the authority given by worldly people, but rather become people acknowledged by heaven, acknowledged by the Bible, and acknowledged by the Book of Revelation.”
The Chairman emphasised again, “We must not treat the Word of God without value, and if we believe in God, we must act according to the words of the Bible.”
He also told the pastors in attendance that day, “The believers you are leading will earnestly desire heaven,” and urged them, “These words of promise are the path to heaven, so you must not be unaware of them, nor must you let (the believers) be unaware of them.”

Rang-ho Kim, a believer who has continued his religious life since the Cheonan Church was founded in 1985, recalled the vivid depiction of the prophecies of the New Testament and the fulfilled reality of the Book of Revelation received at a Revelation lecture in Cheonan 40 years ago, and said, “Since then, I have been practising my faith based on the Book of Revelation and the Bible.”
Meanwhile, this year alone, the chairman has visited over 60 churches domestically to listen to the voices of the faithful and create a better religious environment for them. Chairman Lee's love for God and the congregation serves as an inspiration to believers everywhere.
