Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daegu Branch Conducts Anti-Litter Clean-up Campaign in Designated Special Tourist Zone
On the 31st of August, the Daegu branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group is conducting street cleaning volunteer work in Rodeo Street |
“Thank you for cleaning every nook and cranny in front of the store. I'll be the first to throw away my litter when I'm next downtown.”
A storeowner, who witnessed the environmental anti-litter clean-up campaign of the Daegu Branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group held in Deongseong-ro Street, designated as the region's first special tourist zone, said this.
This volunteer activity is part of the “Green Nature” campaign of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, which carries out wetland conservation activities, environmental cleanups to protect major facilities and cultural assets, disaster recovery activities, public awareness campaigns, and the creation of flower paths in illegal dumping areas to preserve a beautiful environment for posterity.
On that day, 40 members of the Daegu branch participated in the volunteer activity and collected four 75-litre refuse bags amassed with litter and cigarette butts from the streets and alleyways on and around Deongseong-ro Street.
Volunteer Kang-min Lim said, “As a Daegu citizen of Daegu, I volunteered with the mindset of cleaning my own home. Seeing the clean streets also purified my heart.”
