The Daegu branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group held the 'Cheongdo-gun Hyeonri Village Year-End Filial Piety Feast' at the Hyeonri Senior Center in Cheongdo on the 14th. Volunteers from the Daegu branch are preparing meals for the elderly.

“I am grateful that the Shincheonji Volunteer Group visited us in person and showed us a great performance. The youth are also my companions, so my life is filled with vitality.”

This is what Chang-hee Kang, the head of Hyeonri-ri Village, Cheongdo, said following the 'Hyeonri Village Year-End Filial Piety Celebration' hosted by the Daegu branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group (hereinafter referred to as the Daegu branch) for the village's seniors at the Hyeonri Senior Centre on the 14th December in Punggak, Republic of Korea.

This Cheongdo village celebration was held as an expression of filial piety towards one's elders and was prepared with the voluntary support of the graduates of Class 115 Zion Christian Mission Centre. The graduates unanimously said that they were impressed by the mission centre volunteers during their theology course at the Zion Christian Mission Centre.

On that day, the Daegu branch invited 40 seniors and led the joyful feast using their individual talents, which included a performance of a trot song along with a song about peace. After the performance, the elderly were treated to lunch and refreshments, and winter blankets and towels were also presented.

Min-ji Kim (20, female, Daegu), a young graduate, said, “I think that in a society where we live together, we should naturally respect and visit our elders.”
