Shincheonji Volunteer Group Hanam Branch held a 'Green Nature' event near Misa Station in Hanam City. The area has a large floating population and a high population density. In the case of Misa Lake Park, which is often frequented by citizens, there was a sizeable amount of household waste strewn here and there.

In response, Shincheonji Volunteer Group collected about 140 litres of rubbish, including cigarette butts, mainly from the park.

Moreover, a promotional booth was set up near Misa Station and plastic waste was exchanged for succulents when picked up, and a plastic zero campaign was launched.

The provision of succulents is also part of Shincheonji Volunteer Group's hope-sharing 'More the Better' project. 'More the Better' is a service in which volunteers grow plants for about a month for environmental purification, and then donate them to individuals or organisations in need of horticultural treatment or ecological study, together with a message of hope.

Shincheonji Volunteer Group Hanam Branch plans to conduct the Green Nature programme and Plastic Zero Campaign every month to go beyond short-term environmental improvements to long-term benefits.

An official from the Hanam Branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group said, “The sight of citizens holding their children’s hands and picking up plastic and receiving succulents has set a practical example for the protection of the global environment as a whole. It is a rewarding and thankful sight. We'll continue to carry out various practical activities that can make a difference.”

Meanwhile, in addition to the 'Green Nature' programme, Shincheonji Volunteer Group is providing practical help to the local community through the 'Good Consumption, Good Donation Campaign' to support small business owners and low-income households affected by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic; 'Visiting Health Doctor', a free medical service for foreign workers, who are often caught in the medical blind spot, the elderly living alone, and the underprivileged; and a group blood donation to overcome the domestic blood supply shortage.
