Shincheonji Volunteer Group Cheongju Branch held a donation ceremony under its 'Hope-Sharing Project' ahead of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Okcheon Branch of the Defoliant Veterans' Association of Korea.

The items donated on that day were prepared by adding donations from the 'Good Donation, Good Consumption Campaign' of Shincheonji Volunteer Group and Shincheonji Church of Jesus' Cheongju Church. The 'Good Donation, Good Consumption' campaign is a voluntary initiative in which the proceeds of sales from stores that have signed an agreement with Shincheonji Volunteer Group go towards supporting the local economy and community projects.

Items donated at this event will be used to assist war widows.

Jong-seon Lee, president of the Okcheon (North Chungcheong) sub-branch of the Defoliant Veterans' Association, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you to Shincheonji Volunteer Group, which is working hard for the cessation of war, world peace and conducts many other volunteer works, for being with us at this founding anniversary event.”

Kwang-sik Lim, head of the North Chungcheong branch of the Defoliant Veterans' Association, said, “We are grateful for these donated items and for your participation at this commemorative event.”

Moo-gyeom Je, head of Shincheonji Volunteer Group Cheongju, said, “Shincheonji Volunteer Group will continue to provide services and donations to promote the rights and interests of war veterans and members of society who have made great sacrifices and contributions to the country.”

Meanwhile, Shincheonji Volunteer Group Cheongju Branch continues to conduct various community activities, including the 'Visiting Health Doctor' programme, which provides free medical services to foreign workers, who are often caught in the medical 'blind spot', the elderly living alone, and the underprivileged;  'Wall Story' programme for the rejuvenation of dilapidated murals; 'Love for Country and Peace-Sharing' for the common realisation of peace; a monthly 'Good Donation Good Consumption' campaign; the 'More the Better' programme for the promotion of emotional wellbeing through the sharing of companion plants; the 'Green Nature' programme for environmental protection, and more.
