Shincheonji Volunteer Group's East Busan Branch has been actively conducting community projects, such as wall cleaning, wall painting, companion plant distribution, and hair & beauty services.

Celebrating its 10th year this year, 'The Wall Story' is a social project purposed to create a pleasant urban environment by redecorating dilapidated walls, with about 117 volunteers participating in the Sujeong District Mural renovation as part of Shincheonji Volunteer Group's urban regeneration project.

Activities included cleaning the walls, wall renovation, and the distribution of flower pots. The 2m high and 35m long wall at Suseong Elementary School has been reborn as an animated illustration of 'red foxes' and children running freely. The wall was timeworn, so the volunteers started cleaning before painting the mural, and they also shared companion plants while working on the mural.

A Dong-gu resident who witnessed the mural service said, “It's good to see our neighbourhood being rejuvenated by this work on the murals.”

An elderly couple who were going for a stroll with their grandson responded well by showing and explaining the animals on the mural to their grandson, and taking pictures saying that the sight brought back memories of them playing as children.

An official from Dong District Volunteer Center expressed gratitude to the volunteers for their hard work, saying, “The renovation of the mural has made Donggu Children's English Library and Suseong Elementary School vibrant.”
