Shincheonji Volunteer Group, Eastern Seoul Branch, Conducts 'Plant-sharing' Activity
[Cheonji Ilbo = Reporter Yeon-sook Song] The Eastern Seoul Branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group conducted a volunteer activity called 'Sharing Hope for More' at Junggye Neighbourhood Park in Nowon district, Seoul on the morning of the 30th of September.
The Dadaikseon ('More the Better') project was launched to provide emotional healing and hope to people struggling with feelings of helplessness and depression due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic through the donation of companion plants. It is a voluntary activity that helps beneficiaries and volunteers exchange hope and, furthermore, aids all members of society to become one regardless of generation or social standing.
About 100 companion plants provided by the volunteer group on that day were prepared in three categories, such as 'fire', which is a succulent plant with reddish leaves, and 'raul', which has reddish leaves. The citizens who participated in the event were instructed on how to properly grow companion plants, and were advised to water them once every 2-3 weeks and to say “I love you” to the plants.
Mrs. Lee, who lives in Nowon district, said, “I came out on my day off, and I am glad to have taken part in such a meaningful event. Thank you for your service.”
An official of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, Eastern Seoul Branch, said, “Sharing is always beautiful and pleasing.”
