Gangdong and Songpa Branches of Shincheonji Volunteer Group donate rice to 100 low-income households
[Cheonji Ilbo Gyeonggi = Reporter Ji-Min Ryu] Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Gangdong and Songpa Branches conducted their 'Happy Together' activity to spread love and happiness on the 17th and donated 100 bags of rice to Seongnae Social Welfare Centre in Gangdong district, Seoul.
Donated items were delivered to 100 low-income households, including the elderly living alone, single-parent families and people with disabilities, through the welfare centre.
An official from Seongnae Social Welfare Centre said, “Rice is one of the items that beneficiaries need the most. Thank you for your contribution.”
Gyeong-bok Koh, head of Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Gangdong and Songpa branches, said, “We look forward to the coming warmth for our body and mind as we near the end of this cold season.”
Meanwhile, the Gangdong and Songpa branches of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, which have been conducting their 'Happy Together' programme since 2015, have been delivering daily necessities such as rice, ramen, and blankets to low-income households in the region every year.
In addition, they have been conducting programmes including a group blood donation to overcome the blood supply crisis, the medical 'Health Doctor (Medical Volunteer Service)' programme, the environmental protection service 'Green Nature', and the 'Good Donation, Good Consumption' campaign to help small business owners and the underprivileged suffering from COVID-19.
