On the 2nd April, the Ansan branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group conducted its environmental 'Green Nature' programme in Ansan Stream in Gyeonggi province.

'Green Nature' programme, which is being held for the second time this year, is a volunteer service to preserve the global environment and pass it down as a legacy to future generations. 73 volunteers from the Ansan branch participated in the environmental cleanup campaign of Ansan Stream.

The long parking space on the left and right sides of Ansan stream where the volunteer work was held on that day is a spot where drivers dispose of cigarette butts or miscellaneous waste while parking.

As the litter gradually accumulated, it ruined the natural scenery and even created a subtle odour, to the extent that people would avoid taking a walk in the area.

For this reason, members of the Ansan Branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group conducted an environmental protection campaign by making signs such as “Dispose with Care” and “Save Ansan Stream”. About 350 litres of cigarette butts and household waste were collected.

An official from the Ansan branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group said, “To protect the beautiful environment of Ansan City, we plan to carry out continuous environmental cleaning services in every park and around the river in the city. We will make it happen.”

Meanwhile, Shincheonji Volunteer Group Ansan Branch continues to conduct activities for the betterment of the local community through activities including, among others, the 'Wall Story' programme for the rejuvenation of dilapidated murals; 6.25 War Veterans' COVID-19 sanitisation service; 'More the Better' programme to promote emotional wellbeing through the donation of companion plants; and blood donations. The Ansan Branch was awarded 'Grand Prize in Social Development' and is becoming a role model for the local community.
