[Shincheonji Thaddeus Tribe] “Sharing love on Family Month in Korea”
Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (hereafter, Shincheonji Church of Jesus) put its love for the local community into action, in celebration of 'Family Month' in May. In Korea, 'Family Month' is comprised of three important days that honour family members and teachers: Children's Day, Parents' Day, and Teachers' Day.
On 21st May 2022, Shincheonji's Thaddeus tribe, which is based in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, conducted its 'LOVE' campaign, in which female members of Thaddeus tribe cooked hot soup and side dishes with ingredients that they had harvested themselves. They also added various seasonings and had the meals delivered to residents experiencing poorer health or to those struggling to make ends meet.
On Parents' Day, the Daegu branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group served meals to the Korean War Veterans' Association (Daegu branch) and delivered carnations to the Defoliation Veterans' Association (Daegu branch).
Furthermore, the Pohang branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group visited Juwangsan National Park and the Cheongsong County Yasong Art Museum with members of the Korea Association for People with Disabilities (Pohang branch).
Finally, Shincheonji's Thaddeus tribe invited congregation members' relatives, who do not practise the Christian faith, to participate via Zoom, and established a mood of harmony. Gas circuit breakers were also distributed to the elderly for improved safety measures. Shincheonji's Gumi church broadcast this message of love on the radio.
The Thaddeus tribe of Shincheonji even held a 'Family Love Contest' from the 1st to the 21st May and conducted an online competition of poetry, photo, and drawing for all congregation members.
