Shincheonji's Cheongju Church donates food to Gangseo 1-dong Welfare Center, Korea
✦ Volunteering in May, 'Family Month'
[Cheonji Ilbo Cheongju = Reporter Jinhee Lee] Cheongju Church (Matthias tribe) of Shincheonji Church of Jesus put love for its neighbours into action by donating 'meals with love' to the Gangseo 1-dong Welfare Center, in celebration of 'Family Month', on the 26th May.
The 'Love for Neighbours Food Sharing' event was held to extend a culture of goodwill and to spread warmth among neighbours in need, including single mothers and broken families.
The donation ceremony was held at Cheongju Church and in compliance with quarantine rules in the presence of manager Sang-beom Lee of Gangseo 1, and related personnel.
Sang-beom Lee, head of Gangseo 1st ward, said, “The foods donated will be delivered to neighbours in need, including seniors who live alone and less stable homes.”
The head lecturer Mugyeom Je said, “The heavens provide light, rain and air to everyone in the world equally.” He continued, “We will continue to do our best to contribute to the development of our local communities.”
In other news, all of Shincheonji, including Cheongju Church, participated in a group blood donation campaign last month to help resolve the national blood crisis, with the determination to contribute in whatever way possible for the public good at a time of national uncertainty.
