Shincheonji Volunteer Group, Cheonan Branch, Challenges COVID-19 through 'Sharing Love of Kimchi' Project
[Cheonji Ilbo Cheonan=Reporter Joo-hwan Park] The Cheonan branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group (Director Min-ho Noh) held their 10th 'Sharing Love of Kimchi' event during the COVID-19 era over 3 days from the 23rd to the 25th November.
Through the sharing of kimchi event, 250kg (50 boxes) were donated to Seongjeong 1-dong Community Service Centre and 250kg (50 boxes) to the Cheonan Veterans Centre.
An official from Shincheonji Volunteer Group said, “This kimchi-sharing event was suspended during the COVID-19 period but has now resumed, so it was particularly meaningful.”
An official from Seongjeong 1-dong Residents' Association said, “It was rewarding to attend the event prepared by the volunteer group, and we are grateful for the kimchi that was carefully prepared and donated.”
Meanwhile, in addition to the annual 'Sharing Love of Kimchi' volunteer initiative, Shincheonji Volunteer Group is practising love for their neighbour by monthly conducting their 'Good Donation, Good Consumption' campaign, 'More the Better' campaign, and hairdressing services for local businesses and residents afflicted by difficulties arising from COVID-19.
