Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gangneung Branch delivers 'scholarships of love'
[Cheonji Ilbo = Reporter Hyeon-bok Lee] Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gangneung Branch (Director Geun-chang Lee) visited Jumunjin Town Office (Director Dong-eun Kim) on the 10th to conduct their 'Love ON, Share Hope' scholarship service.
Shincheonji Volunteer Group decided to support youth scholarships for low-income households in the region in the sum of 3 million South Korean won (c.£2000), collected through the voluntary participation of local leaders and citizens willing to lend a helping hand to their neighbours in the new year.
A town office official who attended the delivery ceremony said, “We are very grateful to Shincheonji Volunteer Group for their help and encouragement at a time when many students are experiencing real voids in life and need support, strength and courage.”
An official from Shincheonji Volunteer Group said, “We want to be of support to students in need of a helping hand, in the hope that they can do their best and not lose hope in these difficult times.”
Meanwhile, Shincheonji Volunteer Group is conducting various social projects and initiatives such as 'More the Better', which promotes emotional wellbeing through the sharing of companion plants, 'Green Nature' environmental campaign and 'Beautiful Seniors!' for senior citizens.
