Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Seoul East Branch “Spreads Joy by Sharing Pot Plants”

by - 22:09

[Cheonji Ilbo = Reporter Seong-ae Lee] The Seoul East Branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group conducted a 'plant-sharing wellbeing' project at a neighbourhood park in Nowon district, Seoul on the morning of the 2nd April.

The voluntary 'Plant-Sharing Wellbeing' project promotes emotional wellness, love and care, not money and materials, by sharing plants with people who are experiencing helplessness due to the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic.

On that day, beneficiaries received plants from members of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, who had raised these plants with love over one to two months prior. About 80 different plants were delivered, including carnation, ivy, and kalanchoe.

An official from the volunteer group said, “More people are suffering from depression due to the pandemic.

On that day, members of Shincheonji Volunteer Group said, We want to create a beautiful world where the more we participate and share, the more our hearts can grow.

The intergenerational 'We Are One' volunteers programme unites all members of society, without discriminating on the basis of one's social standing. The programme provides emotional care as it helps beneficiaries find joy and hope through the act of caring for plants.
