On the 18th, the Chuncheon branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group held the 'Battle of Chuncheon Photo Exhibition with PeaceKeepers Association' at Great Victory Commemorative Peace Park in Geunhwa-dong.

The PeaceKeepers Association express their gratitude and pay respect to the sacrifice and dedication of the patriotic spirits who defended the Republic of Korea and conduct various volunteer activities.

In response, the Chuncheon branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group prepared a programme to inform citizens of the Battle of Chuncheon, as well as raise awareness of the perils of war and the importance of peace through a photo exhibition of the Battle of Chuncheon, traditional Korean performances, and Taegeukgi (Korean national flag) eco-bag design.

Young-hwa Kim, an advisor to the PeaceKeepers Association for the Battle of Chuncheon, said, “(In the future), citizens and students will be informed of the history of the Battle of Chuncheon through the PeaceKeepers event, and we also enjoyed the performance prepared by Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Chuncheon Branch.”

The Battle of Chuncheon marked the beginnings of the Korean War and inflicted serious damage on the enemy, slowing their advance south for as many as six days, providing great assistance to the ROK and UN forces.

Meanwhile, the Chuncheon branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group continues to engage with society through various projects and programmes, including 'Health Doctor' (Medical Volunteer Service)', a free medical service for people with disabilities and foreign workers who are in the medical 'blind spot'; 'Wall Story (Mural Volunteer Service)' for the rejuvenation of dilapidated murals; and 'Love for Country and Peace-Sharing' as a yearning for peace.
