Shincheonji Masan Branch 'Emergency Blood Donation' at the request of Gyeongnam Blood Centre
[Cheonji Ilbo Gyeongnam=Reporter Seonmi Lee] On the 17th, the Gyeongnam Blood Centre of the Korean Red Cross submitted a request for blood to the Masan branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group (Director Chang-ho Seong), and about 150 Masan branch members and citizens gathered to make a blood donation.
This event, which was held at Changwon NC Park, took place in response to a request from Gyeongnam Blood Centre to the Masan branch to cooperate and provide an emergency blood donation in the winter season when blood is scarce.
On the day, one member said, “I heard through the media that securing blood donations is difficult, but that 90,000 people had willingly participated in Shincheonji's blood donation campaign.” The Shincheonji Volunteer Group member expressed a feeling of pride.
A citizen who participated in the blood donation said, “I was grateful that I've sufficient health to be able to donate blood and be of help to someone.”
An official from Gyeongnam Blood Center said, “I am grateful that so many people have participated in response to our urgent request for blood despite the busyness of daily life.”
Shincheonji Volunteer Group has been continuously donating blood even before COVID-19.
In particular, through the Life ON Blood Donation Campaign, which was launched last year to mark the launch of Shincheonji Youth Volunteer Group We Are One, 70,000 people successfully gave blood, attracting great attention.
Meanwhile, the Masan branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group delivered companion plants to Gyeongnam Blood Centre employees on the 23rd through the “Dadaikseon” ('More the Better') activity, which promotes emotional wellbeing through the sharing of companion plants.
