Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Cheongju Church, donates 300 kg of rice with love to Gangseo 1-dong Administrative Welfare Centre
[Cheonji Ilbo Cheongju = Reporter Jinhee Lee] Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Cheongju Church, of Matthias tribe (led by head lecturer Mugyeom Jee), put love for its neighbour into action ahead of the Chuseok holiday on the 1st September by donating 'food with love' to Gangseo 1-dong Administrative Welfare Centre.
On that day, Cheongju Church delivered 10 kg of rice and 30 bags to Gangseo 1-dong Administrative Welfare Centre.
The 'Love for Neighbours' Food Sharing initiative was launched to create a warmer world by reaching out to neighbours in need, including single mothers and fragmented families, and by spreading a culture of giving so that individuals and families can spend the Chuseok holidays in comfort.
The donation ceremony was held at Gangseo 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center and was conducted in observance to health guidelines in the presence of the head lecturer, Sang-beom Lee, the head of Gangseo 1-dong, and others.
Sang-beom Lee, head of Gangseo 1st ward, said, “The donated bags of rice will be delivered to neighbours in need, including the elderly who live alone and families who are experiencing hardship.”
“The best act, which transcends religion, ideology, and borders, is the act of giving life,” said Mu-gyeom Jee, the head lecturer. He continued, “We will continue to do our best to contribute to the development of the local community.”
Meanwhile, Shincheonji Cheongju Church is practising God's love for one's neighbour by freely donating food, assisting in flood recovery for those directly affected, and carrying out pandemic-related activities with the heart of volunteering for the public good at a time of national difficulty.
