What is the true meaning of the 'Eagle' in Revelation 8?
📰The Bible is one of the best-selling and most widely distributed books in history, yet it is also considered to be among the least understood. The Bible, which is referred to as the New Covenant and Promise of God, in which 'the way to heaven and salvation' is presented, differs in theologians' interpretations that make it difficult to understand. These differing interpretations have been the cause of the rise of denominations with each one establishing their own doctrine. With the increase in online church services and gatherings resulting from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there has been growing interest in the comparison of various church doctrine. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide readers with the opportunity to compare differing Biblical teachings without interpretation. Among a host of online sermons and Bible-based teachings, the contrasting doctrine between the established Church and Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has drawn public interest throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, is hereby compared and summarised. Best efforts have been made to provide a summary of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' understanding of the Bible. Judgment as to what is right or wrong is left to the reader’s discernment.
The book of Revelation is a book that shows and records the events of war in Revelation - which were promised to happen soon - about 2,000 years ago by John whom Jesus chose, and who was one of the 12 disciples. In Revelation 4, John receives God's call and is moved by the Holy Spirit as he ascends to heaven in the spiritual world where he sees the image and layout of the throne of God. He first sees the throne of God, and the twenty-four elders, the seven spirits, a sea of glass, and four living creatures in and around the throne. He says that one of them looked like an eagle.
In the Old Testament era, the prophet Ezekiel also saw the coming of the kingdom of God in Ezekiel 1. He said that the face of one of the four creatures in heaven was like an eagle. It can, therefore, be seen that the eagle is one of the four living creatures in the spiritual world of heaven. Then who are the four living creatures in heaven? In Revelation 4:6, it is said that the four living creatures are full of eyes. These eyes are the many angels in Revelation 5:6-11, and in Revelation 6, the angels are the horses that move under the command of the four living creatures.
In Zechariah 6, the four living creatures, the four archangels, are called four chariots and the four winds of heaven. These are the ones who are brought out before the presence of the Lord of the whole world, and they are the ones who refresh the heart of God.
The heaven, which is the tabernacle of God in the physical world, is divided into two parts; there is the first heaven that passes away and the new heaven that is re-created, as we see in Revelation 21:1. The first heaven that passes away is called the tabernacle of heaven of the betrayers as seen in Revelation 13 and 12, and the re-created new heavens is called the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, as seen in Revelation 14 and 15. Therefore, it can be seen that the flying eagle is an archangel who moves back and forth between the kingdom of God in the spiritual world and the tabernacle of God in the physical world.
Then, let's find out through the fulfilment of the book of Revelation whom the inhabitants of the earth who receive woes are, and what the three woes are that will come to them in the future.
However, they committed an act of betrayal and broke the covenant with God as seen in Revelation 2-3. In order to save them, Jesus had his messenger and prophet send them letters of repentance, but they did not repent, so the Tabernacle Temple that betrayed received judgment and woe in Revelation 8. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth who receive woes are the members of the Tabernacle Temple who betrayed and were being driven out to the Gentiles. They received woe because they broke the covenant with God.
Therefore, the eagle that brought the Israelites out of Egypt in the time of Moses was not a literal eagle, but an archangel of heaven - one of the four living creatures that moves under the command of God - and his angels.
Even at the first coming, people who perceived the Word of God came before Jesus, upon whom God and the kingdom of heaven of the spiritual world had come. Those whom God called and brought out were the disciples who had come to a knowledge of the truth through the eagle-like archangel and angels. It is the same today. Eagles appear in Revelation chapters 4, 8, and 12. They are one of the four living creatures, the archangel and their angels, who are called and brought forth when God fulfils Revelation.
Today, after the Tabernacle Temple that betrayed was destroyed and the sun, moon, and stars darkened and fell, Jesus sent archangels and angels, like eagles, to harvest those born of God’s seed from the east, west, north and south, and God and Jesus have come to the promised shepherd. They gather together at a new tabernacle called the new heaven and new earth. This is today's harvest and the history of salvation. Those who have come to listen to this word at this time have also been guided by angels, like eagles, whom God sent. If you believe in and follow these words, you will become part of God's family and receive the blessings of heaven and eternal life.
