Who are the 'Kings of the Earth' in Revelation 1?
📰The Bible is one of the best-selling and most widely distributed books in history, yet it is also considered to be among the least understood. The Bible, which is referred to as the New Covenant and Promise of God, in which 'the way to heaven and salvation' is presented, differs in theologians' interpretations that make it difficult to understand. These differing interpretations have been the cause of the rise of denominations with each one establishing their own doctrine. With the increase in online church services and gatherings resulting from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there has been growing interest in the comparison of various church doctrine. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide readers with the opportunity to compare differing Biblical teachings without interpretation. Among a host of online sermons and Bible-based teachings, the contrasting doctrine between the established Church and Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has drawn public interest throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, is hereby compared and summarised. Best efforts have been made to provide a summary of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' understanding of the Bible. Judgment as to what is right or wrong is left to the reader’s discernment.

The history and teachings of the Bible can be interpreted literally. However, it is not correct to apply a literal interpretation to the prophecies of the Bible. Nevertheless, misinterpretation has arisen due to ignorance of understanding the writings of the prophets.

It is self-righteous to interpret the meaning of something God has sealed as being this or that.

At the time of Jesus' first coming, the secrets of the kingdom of heaven were spoken in parables. Today, however, they are no longer sealed in parables but have been fully revealed. The pastor who overcomes is plainly testifying the fulfilled reality of the promise recorded in the book of Revelation today. The 'kings of the earth' in Revelation 1:5 do not refer to literal kings or presidents of the world, but to royal priests, or shepherds.
There are two types of spiritual realities in the Bible. In the spiritual world, there is God and there is Satan. For this reason, even in the physical world, kings can be divided into those who belong to God and those who belong to Satan.
Firstly, the kings, or shepherds, who belong to God are those who have been freed from sin by the blood of Jesus. They are the kingdom and priests who are bought with the blood of Jesus. They are the true shepherds who are called out from among the many peoples, nations and languages to be kings. These people are the 144,000 of the 12 tribes of (figurative) Israel who have been sealed with the revealed word and gather on Mount Zion.
On the other hand, there are 'kings of the earth' who commit adultery with the Prostitute. These kings received Satan's seed from the Prostitute of Babylon, which is the kingdom of demons, and committed spiritual adultery. These kings of the earth hid in caves, mountains and rocks, to avoid the wrath of God. These kings belong to Satan and will ultimately receive judgment and come to an end because they deceived all nations with the wine of adultery. The reality of such people are the shepherds (pastors) of today's corrupt established denominations.
God's purpose throughout His 6,000-year history of the Bible has been to create His kingdom and priests through the pastor He has chosen. Today, after 6,000 years, God's purpose is finally being achieved through the creation of the kingdom and priests who are sealed with the opened word of Revelation by the pastor promised within the book of Revelation. The multitude in white, washed with the blood of Jesus, also appear. This is the most joyful and most blessed event in history. Today, the era of the kings of spiritual Israel - shepherds who sowed weeds and prophesied lies, and the era which marks the era of the traditional church - comes to an end, and a new era of Heaven and Earth unfolds.
