📰The Bible is one of the best-selling and most widely distributed books in history, yet it is also considered to be among the least understood. The Bible, which is referred to as the New Covenant and Promise of God, in which 'the way to heaven and salvation' is presented, differs in theologians' interpretations that make it difficult to understand. These differing interpretations have been the cause of the rise of denominations with each one establishing their own doctrine. With the increase in online church services and gatherings resulting from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there has been growing interest in the comparison of various church doctrine. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide readers with the opportunity to compare differing Biblical teachings without interpretation. Among a host of online sermons and Bible-based teachings, the contrasting doctrine between the established Church and Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has drawn public interest throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, is hereby compared and summarised. Best efforts have been made to provide a summary of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' understanding of the Bible. Judgment as to what is right or wrong is left to the reader’s discernment.

In order to understand this content, one must understand the light and the darkness in 1 Thessalonians 5. In John 1:1-4, it is said that the Word in the beginning was God, and in that Word was life, and this life is the light of man. Therefore, light is God's word of life, and darkness is ignorance, or lies, of God's word of life.

Who are the children of the light and those who are in darkness? In 1 John 1:5, God is said to be the light, and in Luke 8:11 it is said that the seed is the word of God. Since darkness is ignorance - or lies - of the Word of God, those who belong to darkness refer to those who do not understand the Word of God and belong to a place where there is no truth.

In John 12:46, Jesus came into this world as the light, and just as he said that those who believed in him would not walk in darkness, 2000 years ago at the first coming of Jesus, a 'child of light' was a disciple who was reborn of the seed of the revealed word (revelation) of the Old Testament that Jesus opened. Conversely, as in John 8:44, the priests and people of the Jews at that time, who were born of the devil's seed and did not know the truth, belonged to the darkness. The result for those who belonged to the darkness was that they did not receive salvation because they did not receive Jesus, who was the light. The 'children of light', like the 12 disciples of Jesus, had faith and received salvation because they accepted Jesus.

According to Matthew 13:37-40, the good seed are the sons of the kingdom of heaven, the weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the harvest is the end of the age. Therefore, as weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.

Today is the time of harvest and the time of the Lord's Second Coming. Jesus told us in advance that those born of the good seed, which is the seed of God (God's word), would become the children of light who enter the kingdom of heaven, while those born of the seed of the devil (lies) would end up in darkness and hell.

As written in 1 Thessalonians 5, who are those who today become the children of light and are saved at the time of the second coming of Jesus, and who are those who will be destroyed and end up in darkness? In John 9:4-5, Jesus said that when he left, a time of night would come, and in John 16, Jesus said that the time would come when he would no longer speak in parables (in hidden language) but would plainly reveal things about the Father. So, in Revelation chapter 5 of the New Testament, it is written that there is a sealed book in the right hand of God, which no one in heaven or on earth can know. Jesus then took this sealed book, broke its seals in chapters 6 and 8, and in chapter 10 gave it to a mighty angel who gave it to John to eat.

In the same way, today, there is only one shepherd (pastor) like John who has eaten the opened book. The revealed word (revelation) can only be given through this pastor. Neither God nor Jesus nor the promises of the Bible nor their fulfilment can otherwise be known, meaning one will inevitably become a child of darkness.

Therefore, at the time of the Lord's Second Coming, only those who understand and believe in the revealed word through the pastor like John can welcome the Second Coming of Jesus and become a 'child of light' who receives salvation. By the same token, if you meet this pastor and do not hear or understand the word of revelation, you will fall into darkness and will be destroyed as a result of not having met Jesus.

In Revelation 14, the place where Jesus will come to is Mount Zion; in Revelation 15, it is the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony; in Revelation 21, it is the new heaven and new earth; and in Revelation 3, it is the place where the one who overcomes is. The children of light who receive Jesus and salvation at the Second Coming of the Lord are the people of Shincheonji, Mount Zion, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, where the one who overcomes is. These are the 144,000 people of the 12 tribes and the multitude in white who meet this pastor like John who received the revealed word recorded in Revelation 10. These people are reborn of the seed of the revealed word.

I believe that we who live on this earth should be able to live as those who belong to the day and to the light. Night culture must be completely rejected.

You must remember that this sad image of self-indulgence, depravity, lewdness, sensuality, and the pursuit of fleshly pleasures is indicative of the fact that we are living in the last days."
