With the increase in online church services and gatherings resulting from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there has been growing interest in the comparison of various church doctrine. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide readers with the opportunity to compare differing Biblical teachings without interpretation. Among a host of online sermons and Bible-based teachings, the contrasting doctrine between the established Church and Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has drawn public interest throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, is hereby compared and summarised. Best efforts have been made to provide a summary of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' understanding of the Bible. Judgment as to what is right or wrong is left to the reader’s discernment.

Let's learn about the spiritual meaning of water that Jesus spoke of. First of all, water is essential for sustaining humans and all life. God said He would send a famine through the land - not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord. The eternal water that God and Jesus want to give people is the word of life that our souls and spirits must drink.
In Isaiah 55:1, God tells those who are thirsty to come to the waters and to buy wine and milk without money and without cost. In verse 3, God also says, “Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live.” How can one buy water and food without money in today's world? Just as our body needs water to live, our thirsty soul lives when we hear the word of God. To say that the word of life that saves souls is given without cost means that there is no value from the world's standard that can be placed on it.
In the Bible, the word is called water, and the shepherd (pastor) who preaches the word is likened to the spring of water. Evangelists who believe in and preach the word that comes from this pastor are likened to a river flowing with water.
In John 7:37-38, Jesus said that whoever believes in him would have rivers of living water flowing from within them. This means that one who hears the word of God preached by Jesus also becomes a river that preaches the word.
