What is the 'Large Sword' in Revelation 6:3-4?
📰The Bible is one of the best-selling and most widely distributed books in history, yet it is also considered to be among the least understood. The Bible, which is referred to as the New Covenant and Promise of God, in which 'the way to heaven and salvation' is presented, differs in theologians' interpretations that make it difficult to understand. These differing interpretations have been the cause of the rise of denominations with each one establishing their own doctrine. With the increase in online church services and gatherings resulting from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there has been growing interest in the comparison of various church doctrine. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide readers with the opportunity to compare differing Biblical teachings without interpretation. Among a host of online sermons and Bible-based teachings, the contrasting doctrine between the established Church and Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has drawn public interest throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, is hereby compared and summarised. Best efforts have been made to provide a summary of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' understanding of the Bible. Judgment as to what is right or wrong is left to the reader’s discernment.
If the large sword refers to physical warfare and is symbolic of dangerous weapons of war such as bows and cannons, what kind of sword comes out of Jesus' mouth in Revelation 1? If this sword is a literal weapon, does it mean that a bow, cannon, or nuclear bomb could also come out of Jesus' mouth? Is Jesus a storehouse of weapons?
Moreover, in Revelation 19, it is said that the sword that comes out of Jesus' mouth will strike the nations, but Jesus does not use physical weapons against the nations. Jesus is not a murderer. Jesus raised the dead; he never killed the living.
Therefore, the war in the last days is a spiritual war between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. The word of God becomes the sword of the Holy Spirit, and the lies of Satan become the lies of the evil spirit, and so it becomes a war of doctrine fought with each other's words of testimony. That is why Jesus said, "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword". If Jesus had actually given a literal sword, the said family members would have gone through atrocities.
In John 18 and Matthew 26, many people armed with swords came to arrest Jesus. At that time, Peter struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear. But Jesus said to put the sword in its place, and even said that everyone who lives by the sword will die by the sword.
Jesus fought against Satan's false shepherds - that is, the scribes and the Pharisees. This war was not fought with knives and guns, but with a spiritual sword - that is, the sword of the word - and Jesus triumphed. Likewise, the large sword that the rider on the red horse in Revelation 6 receives is not a real sword, but the word of judgment.
In Revelation 13, did the beastlike false shepherd and chosen people of God's tabernacle fight against one another with knives and guns? Moreover, in Revelation 12, it is said that the shepherd chosen by Jesus fought and overcame the beastlike shepherd with the blood of the Lamb - that is, the words of Jesus - and the words of his testimony. It is clear that this is spiritual warfare fought with the Word.

"There is said to be a sword in Revelation 6:8. Large knives or swords are modern mass-produced killing instruments, which are now changing in various forms. The nuclear weapons possessed by the world powers today is the 'large sword'. It is a modern-day sword that kills people."
