What are the 'Tree of Life' and the 'Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil' in the Centre of the Garden of Eden, and their Fruits? (Shincheonji Church)
📰The Bible is one of the best-selling and most widely distributed books in history, yet it is also considered to be among the least understood. The Bible, which is referred to as the New Covenant and Promise of God, in which 'the way to heaven and salvation' is presented, differs in theologians' interpretations that make it difficult to understand. These differing interpretations have been the cause of the rise of denominations with each one establishing their own doctrine. With the increase in online church services and gatherings resulting from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there has been growing interest in the comparison of various church doctrine. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide readers with the opportunity to compare differing Biblical teachings without interpretation. Among a host of online sermons and Bible-based teachings, the contrasting doctrine between the established Church and Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has drawn public interest throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, is hereby compared and summarised. Best efforts have been made to provide a summary of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' understanding of the Bible. Judgment as to what is right or wrong is left to the reader’s discernment.

In Genesis 2, it is recorded that the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil are located in the centre of God's garden. It is also recorded that if one eats the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil - the tree that makes one know both good and evil - one will die; and that if one eats the fruit of the tree of life, one will live forever. In addition, in the book of Revelation, which is fulfilled 6000 years after the creation of the world, it is recorded that there is a tree of life which bears 12 kinds (crops) of fruits every month whose leaves heal all nations. However, there is no recording of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that leads to death. Why not?
Adam and his descendants, who have all eaten this fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, have been slaves to death for the last 6,000 years since the creation of the world. Do you know what the fruit of the tree is which, after eating, one is said to die from? Without knowing its reality, believers will be oblivious to this fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil that is being eaten. It is recorded that eating the fruit of the tree of life will lead to eternal life. Therefore, distinguishing the fruits of these two types of trees, which is the difference between life and death, is the most important matter to concern one with.

In Matthew 13, Jesus said that he sowed good seed in his field, where the enemy the devil came to sow weeds. The appearance of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in Eden, the garden of God, was not planted there by God. It was the betraying evil spirit, Satan, who did so. The body of the tree of life is God, and the body of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is this fallen angel, Satan, who sinned.
The two seeds of the spirit, which are the seeds of the word, are likened to a tree. The one whom God is with becomes the tree of life, and the one in whom the betraying evil spirits enter becomes a pastor of Satan and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. There is a saying in Korean which likens children who grow up in the world to 'trees with dream', and 'fragrant Sandalwood even within seed leaf'. In this way, the tree referred to in the Bible is not a physical tree, but a person.
In John 15, Jesus called Himself the 'true vine' and had disciples. When the seed of life is sown, the tree of life appears. The tree of life is Jesus born as the seed of the word of God - the source of life - and as James 1:18 reads, a person born with the word of truth becomes the tree's firstfruit. The Word and the congregation who belong to it are the fruit of the tree of life.
On the other hand, in Daniel 4 of the Old Testament, it is recorded that Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, the kingdom of the devil, was a high tree with many fruits, and birds (evil spirits) living on its branches and wild animals under this tree. This is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In Deuteronomy 32, the wild wine is the deadly venom, or poison, of the serpent. Therefore, at the time of the first coming, the Pharisees, who ruled Jerusalem, were the trees of the knowledge of good and evil, and their arbitrary lies and followers were the fruits of this tree.

The great prostitute who controls them is called Babylon, the kingdom of demons in Revelation chapters 17 and 18. These churches once belonged to God but were destroyed by the organisation of Satan which fed all nations the maddening wine of adultery.
At the time of the fulfilment of Revelation, the reality of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is the pastors of Babylon, the kingdom of Satan that overthrew all nations. It is also recorded that the nations were destroyed by Babylon's wine of adultery. This is the mix of good and evil that kills one's spirit at the Second Coming, and its reality is false doctrine, or commentaries, belonging to a false pastor. It is the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which gives a false interpretation of the Bible, and the deadly poison of the serpent that kills one's spirit. Believers in Babylon who listen to these words become fruits of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
At the Lord's Second Coming, Jesus told those who fought and overcame the Babylonian pastors that they would eat from the tree of life in paradise, and that God, Jesus, and the spiritual kingdom would come. According to the promise of the Bible, today Shincheonji's Promised Pastor has created the 12 tribes of spiritual new Israel by fighting and overcoming the enemy.
The 144,000 are the ripened firstfruits recorded in Revelation 14:3. They are the fruits of God's seed sown in Jesus' field 2000 years ago, and are harvested and sealed at the time of harvest and belong to the 12 tribes. As evidenced in the book of Revelation, the tree of life that bears 12 crops of fruit is the promised pastor and the 12 tribes of Shincheonji promised to appear at the Lord's Second Coming. The congregants (members) of the 12 tribes of Shincheonji, created through the seed of the Word, become the fruits of the tree of life. At the time of harvest, those who are not harvested and remain in the field are children born of the seed of the devil - the wild grapes who will be judged - and this is the deadly poison of snakes and the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
