[Cheonji Ilbo = Reporter Hye-ji Lim] The online Bible Seminar of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus), which has attracted as many as 30,000 spectators within Korea despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, has reached fever pitch abroad.
The attitude of the Protestant Church in Korea towards the book of Revelation and the prophets is quite different. In Korea, denominations of the Protestant Church such as Calvin Presbyterian Church, which are wary of teachings on the prophetic books of the Bible such as the book of Revelation, have established themselves as mainstream denominations and continue to criticise Shincheonji Church of Jesus for expounding the entire Bible. Within such a climate, reactions overseas towards their evaluation of the content of the Bible seminars, applied without prejudice or bias, can be said to be upstanding.
In fact, overseas pastors have expressed their gratitude and desire to 'sign an MOU to cooperate with Shincheonji Church of Jesus, and share this message'.
According to Shincheonji Church of Jesus on the 3rd October, a total of 750 ministers, including pastors from Africa, attended the 'African Pastors' Online Bible Seminar', which was held twice at 4pm and 10pm on August 28th. Attendance per country was 576 people in Uganda (502 pastors, 58 evangelists, 16 other ministers), 174 people in Kenya (56 pastors, 19 evangelists, 99 other ministers), 4 people in the Democratic Republic of Congo (4 pastors), 2 people in Ghana (2 pastors), 3 people in India (3 pastors), 1 person in Australia (1 pastor) and 1 person in Norway (1 pastor).
Pastor Ibrahim Kitamuriho expressed his feelings towards Shincheonji Church's Online Bible Seminar. He said, “Shincheonji Church of Jesus has blessed our church.”He continued, “If the pastors hear these words and pass them on to the believers, everyone will know Jesus right away.” “Thank you for your teaching. These words are truly necessary for this generation and are the words that enlighten this age.”
Turning his gaze towards the MOU document he had written himself, Pastor Ibrahim said, “I want to spread this message so that many people can know it. Our church sincerely wants to be with Shincheonji and the words of truth taught by the Chairman of the Church.”
Pastor Izama Anumaka, who attended Shincheonji Church's Online Bible Seminar, holds up a self-written MOUPastor Izama Anumaka (Pentecostal Word Center Church, International Victory Women's Organization) also delivered a video saying that she would like to sign an MOU with Shincheonji Church of Jesus. She said, "I sincerely thank you for helping us understand this era and for making us realize many things that we would have never otherwise learnt in our lifetime".
She said, “I hope everyone, whether pastor, clergy, evangelist, or professor, will participate. I want people to know what Shincheonji Church is saying.” She said, “I sincerely love the work of the Chairman, and I will pray that he will do all the work with strength, both physically and spiritually. The world needs the Chairman. And God will continue to help us.”
Pastor Felix Okabo shares his thoughts on attending Shincheonji Church's Bible SeminarPastor Felix Okabo, pastor of the Hallelujah Christian missionary organisation of the Pentecostal denomination, which has 9,000 members, said, “When I first met this Chairman of the Online Bible Seminar, I said that I would wholeheartedly participate in the work of the Chairman of Shincheonji for Christ and believers. I have already signed an MOU with Shincheonji Church. In Christ we are one.”
Church members in Uganda also said to Chairman Lee directly through the video that they were deeply impressed by the Online Bible Seminar. They said, “Thank you (Chairman Lee) for giving us the word of life,” and “many pastors are repenting.”
Shincheonji Church of Jesus held their opening online Bible Seminar, delivered by Chairman Lee, on August 14th, which was followed by seminars by all the 12 tribes and then all branch churches throughout Korea. In particular, Chairman Lee received notable attention at the Online Bible Seminar by revealing, in detail, how he has come to preach the prophecies and fulfilment (reality) of the New Testament, what he has witnessed and experienced during his life of faith, the challenges he has endured, and the purpose for the creation of the 12 tribes of Shincheonji.
The Online Bible Seminar series concluded with a sermon by Chairman Lee on the 24th of last month, but it is expected that the online seminars of Shincheonji Church of Jesus will continue on in the future, as Chairman Lee proposed a full-length seminar on the book of Revelation for the benefit of pastors.
