(24 Wise Questions - 14) “How do you believe that the spirits and souls of the deceased do not perish, but either go to heaven or hell?"

(Chairman Manhee Lee) "Heaven will come to this earth and judgment will be made according to one's deeds"

Chairman Lee, Shincheonji Church of Jesus

There are times - while dreaming, semi-conscious or in vision - that a person’s spirit meets the spirit of a deceased parent, sibling, friend or well-known person. This proves that the spirits of the dead exist, just as my spirit is proven to exist in a dream.

It is not that the spirits of the deceased go looking for heaven; rather, it is God and heaven who come to this earth (see John 14:2~3, Rev 21:1~7). When that time comes, the living and the dead will be judged according to what they have done as recorded in the books of the Bible, and they will either go to heaven or hell (Rv 20:11-15). Ask a corpse - it will not be able to answer because it no longer has a spirit or soul within it.
