📰The Bible is one of the best-selling and most widely distributed books in history, yet it is also considered to be among the least understood. The Bible, which is referred to as the New Covenant and Promise of God, in which 'the way to heaven and salvation' is presented, differs in theologians' interpretations that make it difficult to understand. These differing interpretations have been the cause of the rise of denominations with each one establishing their own doctrine. With the increase in online church services and gatherings resulting from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there has been growing interest in the comparison of various church doctrine. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide readers with the opportunity to compare differing Biblical teachings without interpretation. Among a host of online sermons and Bible-based teachings, the contrasting doctrine between the established Church and Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has drawn public interest throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, is hereby compared and summarised. Best efforts have been made to provide a summary of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' understanding of the Bible. Judgment as to what is right or wrong is left to the reader’s discernment.
To answer the question, the spiritual eye salve in the text is the word of the Spirit that Jesus sent to the rebellious people of Israel to open their spiritual eyes. When Jesus took the sealed scroll in Revelation 5 and opened it at the Second Coming of the Lord, he sends seven spirits to open our eyes.
Jesus told the messenger of Laodicea that he did not know he was blind. How can a blind person not know that he is blind? Therefore, the words in this text do not refer to the physically blind, but to the spiritually blind. Also, the salve that is needed for the spiritually blind is spiritual, and not physical, salve. The Bible speaks of spiritual blindness. In the Old Testament in Isaiah 29:9-11, it is said that the shepherds of the people, that is, the prophets and seers, were blind. Even if the words of prophecy are given to those who say that they can read, they cannot because it is sealed, so they cannot understand the meaning of the words recorded.
Likewise, at the time of the Lord's Second Coming, the messenger of the Church of Laodicea was spiritually blind, unaware that he was blind. Then why did this messenger become blind?
If we look at the events recorded in the book of Revelation, we see that the fulfilment of Revelation unfolds in the order of betrayal, destruction and salvation. The location of the fulfilment of the book of Revelation is the tabernacle of the seven golden lampstands of Revelation 2~3 - that is, the Tabernacle Temple located in Gwacheon city, Gyeonggi province, which is called the tabernacle of heaven in Revelation 13 and 12. When the book of Revelation is fulfilled, Jesus, who is a Holy Spirit, appears first, and then the seven stars and seven messengers working in the right hand of Jesus appear. They were those who were with Jesus and who had the seven spirits of God.
Shortly thereafter, they betrayed, and at that time, the false shepherds of the religious world, Satan's Nicolaitans, entered the Tabernacle Temple to destroy them. In order to urge them to repent, Jesus showed all the events to the one who overcomes, new John, and had him write letters to the seven messengers of the Tabernacle Temple who betrayed. Looking at the content of Jesus’ prophetic letters sent by John in Revelation chapters 2 and 3, you see that the angels (messengers) of the tabernacle of the seven golden lampstands had betrayed, become one with Satan's Nicolaitans, and committed adultery. They should have fought and overcome.
Removing the lampstand from its place means that, unless the seven messengers repented, the spirit of the lampstand that had been with them would not return and would leave them forever. The seven messengers became spiritually blind as their souls became darkened and their eyes-like spirits left them.
In this situation, when Jesus tells the messenger of the Church of Laodicea to buy salve from Jesus and apply it, he is saying that since the seven spirits had left them, they must repent and have the lamps of the seven spirits with them again. However, ultimately, the seven messengers did not repent, and the spirit of the lamp left them. The spirit of the lamp that departed, together with the kingdom of God's spiritual realm, has come to the one who overcomes, as recorded in Revelation 3:12.
We are living in the last days, the era in which the prophecies of Revelation are being fulfilled. However, even if the prophecies of the New Testament come true, if one does not have eyes to see, then believers who have their physical eyes open can be spiritually blind. Then, what should we do to open those spiritual eyes? We must meet the one who overcomes, who has the spirit of the seven lamps in front of God's throne and the kingdom of God's spiritual realm, and receive the testimony of the word of revelation in order to perceive the prophecies and fulfilment of the New Testament. This is the salve that is applied to open one's eyes. Therefore, today, the promised pastor of the New Testament, the one who overcomes, is testifying the prophecies and fulfilment of Revelation to the world with salve so that all people can open their eyes and understand the Bible.

"You need to buy eye drops and apply them to your eyes. In the same way, in our relationship with the Lord, when we receive the touch of the Lord and receive the touch of the Holy Spirit, our spiritual eyes must be opened, so that we can truly know who other people are and see all things clearly. Looking at Apostle Paul, was he not blind when he persecuted Jesus? When you receive the laying on of hands from Ananias, you will be filled with the Holy Spirit. Only then will scales fall from this person's eyes and his eyes will open."
