What does, 'I will remove your lampstand', mean in Revelation 2?

📰The Bible is one of the best-selling and most widely distributed books in history, yet it is also considered to be among the least understood. The Bible, which is referred to as the New Covenant and Promise of God, in which 'the way to heaven and salvation' is presented, differs in theologians' interpretations that make it difficult to understand. These differing interpretations have been the cause of the rise of denominations with each one establishing their own doctrine. With the increase in online church services and gatherings resulting from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there has been growing interest in the comparison of various church doctrine. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide readers with the opportunity to compare differing Biblical teachings without interpretation. Among a host of online sermons and Bible-based teachings, the contrasting doctrine between the established Church and Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has drawn public interest throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, is hereby compared and summarised. Best efforts have been made to provide a summary of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' understanding of the Bible. Judgment as to what is right or wrong is left to the reader’s discernment.

"The Spirit of God given to seven pastors was taken away, meaning their duty was taken from them"

Let's find out the true Biblical meaning, in Revelation chapter 2, of 'I will remove your lampstand from its place' unless there is repentance. These words are recorded in a letter that Jesus sends to the messenger of the church in Ephesus through Apostle John, and it conveys a message urging the messenger of the church in Ephesus, who abandoned his first love, to repent.

In the time of the Old Testament, the physical lampstand was made on this earth by Moses, in response to the image of heaven that God showed him. The lampstand was also called seven lampstands, seven golden lampstands or seven lamps, and was used as an instrument for shining light in the tabernacle of God.

Moreover, because this lampstand was made by melting one talent of pure gold, it was also called a golden lampstand or the seven golden lampstands. Moses saw the things of heaven so he would build a tabernacle for God on the earth. He saw the spirits of the seven lamps in front of God's throne, and in accordance with this vision, built a golden lampstand comprised of seven lamps within the tabernacle.

Furthermore, the spirits of these seven lamps are also called the seven eyes of God in Revelation 5:6 and Zechariah 4:10. Therefore, not only do they perform the role of a lamp, but they also have the duty to observe the work of God. These entities always work with Jesus.

Therefore, the lampstand in the main reference is a spiritual lampstand, and the seven golden lampstands refer to the spirits of the seven lamps. In this way, history on the earth has taken place as it has been fulfilled in heaven. Jesus referred to John the Baptist as a 'lamp', that is, one who prepared the way for the Lord by shining the light into the darkened Jewish world at the time of the first coming.

In the book of Revelation, which records the events of the Lord's Second Coming, Jesus established seven messengers and gave them the duty as lampstands to illuminate the darkened world, and he worked with them.

Jesus, who walked among the seven golden lampstands, had the seven stars in his right hand. The reality of this prophecy is the seven messengers of the Tabernacle Temple who appeared in 1966. However, as recorded in Revelation chapters 2 and 3, these seven angels (messengers) of the Tabernacle Temple forsook their first love with Jesus, were deceived by Satan's Nicolaitans, and walked the path of betrayal.

At that time, Jesus chose 'new John', and showed and informed him that the seven messengers were committing adultery with Satan's Nicolaitans. Through new John, Jesus sent them letters of warning, urging them to repent, or else have their lampstands removed from them.

Even after receiving these letters, the seven messengers did not repent and were expelled to the pitch-black caves, mountains and rocks, that is, the false pastors belonging to the Gentiles and their denominations. In Revelation 9, we see that they did not repent. God said that He would remove the lampstand from those who did not repent. This means that the Spirit of God and one's duty would be taken away, and given to another.

In summary, the seven messengers who were chosen and worked in the last days were able to testify God's word and shine the light into darkened hearts because the spirits of the seven lamps were with them. However, since they betrayed and did not repent, God took away the Spirit, so the word of God could no longer come out from them, and their given duty came to an end. Ultimately, the seven spirits of God left the seven messengers who betrayed, and worked through a new body. Their reality was the seven horns Jesus had in Revelation 5:6, that is, seven new people established to carry out judgment on the seven messengers who betrayed. Therefore, the meaning in the main reference to 'remove your lampstand from its place' means that the seven spirits and their duties were taken away from them and given to another.

At such times, there is someone who saw, heard, and testifies to the events of betrayal and destruction that took place in the Tabernacle Temple, which is the location of the events of Revelation. This person is the one who fought and overcame the war against the dragon's group of destroyers, with the blood of the Lamb and the word of testimony. By fighting and defeating the dragon, God's salvation, power and kingdom, and the authority of Christ, came to be on the earth.

What has been created through the one who overcomes, following the events of betrayal and destruction, is the kingdom of God; that is, the newly created 12 tribes of spiritual new Israel, the new heaven and new earth, created by harvesting and sealing in accordance with the promises in Revelation 14 and 7. As promised in Revelation 3:12 and 3:21, God, Jesus, and the kingdom of heaven in the spiritual world also come down to this place. The 12 tribes of Shincheonji is the kingdom of heaven established on this earth at the Second Coming of the Lord. It is the only place where salvation can be given.

"It means that God will get rid of the church in Ephesus. The revival of the Church  began in Ephesus, moved on to Europe, US, Korea and, lastly, to China"
Korean Church

Pastor A, Presbyterian Church
"If we don't return to our first love, the Lord warned us that the lampstand would be removed. This means that the church in Ephesus would be completely destroyed."

Pastor B, Presbyterian Church
"At one time, the messenger of the church in Ephesus was Apostle Paul, then Timothy, and then John, who were all great pastors, but there is no trace of the church. I can't find a single cross. Why? The lampstand has been moved. Since the first act was no longer restored, God moved the lampstand. Where to? It was moved to Europe for the revitalisation of the European churches. But now, does the lampstand of the European church remain? No. God moved this lampstand to America. What is America like? All the lights are out.

Because the lampstand has come to Korea, lighting it brightly, a survey carried out by the National Statistical Office shows that there are nearly 9 million Christians in Korea. In fact, it cannot be denied that this lampstand is also moving to China.

Watching the Chinese churches grow and develop at an incredible pace and achieve tremendous revival, I think it's fair to say that the lampstand is moving away from us now."
