“I was touched that the volunteers not only cleaned up but also gave us gifts. I am truly grateful for their dedication to the village.”
On the 15th, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branches joined forces and conducted a large-scale river clean-up activity in Hyeonri Village, Cheongdo County and also delivered New Year’s gifts to the village residents. One villager who received a gift said the above.
On that day, volunteers scoured every corner of Hyeonri village, collecting litter and even removing pollutants accumulated in the river. The litter collected that day amounted to 4 tonnes, or 100 40kg sacks.
In addition, the volunteers delivered daily necessities such as eco-friendly detergents to the villagers and distributed notices on proper waste separation and disposal methods and prohibition of illegal incineration, informing them of the need for environmental protection.
