Shincheonji Asan Church Holds Lecture Centred on John 9, “The Blind Who Open Their Eyes to Find Heaven”
“I was really surprised by the depth of the lecture that made me realise that the story of the blind man who regained his sight in John 9, 2000 years ago, can be applied to me living in 2025.”
Pastors and believers from the Chungnam region filled the Shincheonji Asan Church to listen to a Revelation Bible Seminar held on the theme of “The Blind Who Open Their Eyes to Find Heaven” on the 9th. Deok-im Kim (55), who attended the lecture, shared his perception.
The lecture was held to shed in-depth light on the secret of the blind who were able to open their eyes at the time of the First Coming through John 9 and the Book of Revelation.
Bang-sik Jang, the leader of the Matthias Tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, began the lecture by saying, “The Pool of Siloam, located south of Jerusalem, does not have water with scientific evidence to open one’s eyes, and there is no special effect to applying mud to it.” He added, “The word Siloam means ‘sent’ in Hebrew, and it symbolises the messenger sent by God for the believers of the age.”
He continued, “The reason the blind man who had been blind since birth was able to open his eyes was not the water itself, but the words of Jesus, the Son of God,” and “This incident has a spiritual meaning that opens the eyes of people’s hearts and leads them to understand God’s will.”
Quoting Revelation 22:16, the tribe leader warned, “The Jews who did not recognise Jesus were spiritually blind, and if we do not understand the prophecies of the New Testament, we may fall into the same state today of not knowing that we are blind.”
He concluded the lecture by urging pastors to exercise greater humility before the words of the Bible in order to lead themselves and their congregation to heaven.
