The Gangseo Branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group and the Gangseo Branch of the Vietnam War Veterans Association held a joint environmental cleanup on the 11th outside Balsan Station in Gangseo District, Seoul.
The activity was organised to strengthen cooperation between the two organisations while helping create a cleaner environment for local residents. Around 35 veterans and volunteers took part, collecting household waste and cleaning pedestrian walkways and roadside areas around busy station entrances and commercial streets.
The participants worked side by side, identifying areas requiring attention and carrying collected rubbish together.
Jin-su Kim, chairman of the Gangseo Branch of the Vietnam War Veterans Association, said, “As I cleaned the streets, I felt as though not only my surroundings but also my heart were becoming clean.” He added, “It was nice to see the Shincheonji Volunteer Group working so hard, and I hope this kind of volunteering continues in the future.”
A Shincheonji Volunteer Group official expressed the group's desire to continue to join forces with various community members to provide practical assistance to the region.
