About 25 volunteers from the Changwon branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group took part in an environmental cleanup on 22nd August, collecting approximately 410 litres of waste around Changwon Namsan Terminal and nearby Wetland Park.

As part of the “Let Nature Be Green” initiative, volunteers cleaned streets, pavements, flowerbeds and the terminal parking area, focusing on cigarette butts and household waste discarded in less visible areas.

Despite the sweltering heat, the volunteers continued along the route from Gaeumjeong Intersection through Namsan Terminal to Wetland Park. Local merchants encouraged the volunteers for their efforts.

Volunteer Do-hyun Lee said the support from nearby shop owners gave him energy and that he hoped to participate in similar activities regularly.

The Changwon branch plans to continue environmental clean-up activities across the region through the “Let Nature Be Green” initiative, which is purposed to restore a pristine natural environment for posterity.
