The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gunsan Branch carried out environmental cleanups at Geumgang Sports Park and the Saemangeum Seawall, collecting approximately 1400 litres of waste.

Around 60 volunteers removed plastic bottles, bags, cans and other household waste from the sports park, while at the seawall they cleared discarded fishing gear, plastic bottles and Styrofoam.

Tourist Si-eun Park, (45), said, “I was surprised by how much rubbish the volunteers collected, as there seemed to be little from a distance. It is nice to see tourist areas being kept cleaner through local volunteer efforts.”
