“It's impressive to see young people volunteering on such a cold day. I will learn from this and develop a habit of picking up litter whenever I pass by.”
To welcome the new year, the Seongnam branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group held a 'Green Nature' volunteer activity on the 16th, and a passerby said this.
On this day, volunteers from the Seongnam branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group went around the area near homes, schools, and police stations in Jungwon District, Seongnam City, and picked up litter wherever litter was visible.
About 50 volunteers collected 150 litres of waste in about two hours, including a significant amount of cigarette butts. They even cleaned inside the sewers.
The Shincheonji volunteers presented New Year 'lucky bags' to citizens, businesses, and police stations and delivered well wishes for the new year.
In particular, a young man in his 20s, who participated in the volunteer work, was taken aback by the number of cigarette butts found littered near a primary school, and expressed his determination to actively participate in future volunteer work.
This activity is part of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group's 'Green Nature' campaign, which aims to preserve a beautiful and clean natural environment for posterity.
