On the afternoon of the 18th, volunteers from the Shincheonji Seodaemun Church and Bulkwang Church greeted local market traders at the World Cup Market in Mangwon neighbourhood, Mapo District, Seoul

“Even during the IMF and COVID-19 pandemics, it was never this hard. The current situation is challenging to the point that I am considering closing down my business, but the fact that volunteers came to talk to me and encourage me is of great help. Truly, this world is a place worth living in.”

These are the words of a local market trader who witnessed the 'Flower Road' volunteer activity carried out by the Shincheonji Seodaemun and Bulkwang Churches at the World Cup Market in Mapo District, western Seoul.

On January 18th, about 20 volunteers engaged with citizens through various activities in the market, including street cleaning and distribution of hot packs to local market traders enduring the bitter cold. They also expressed their thanks and well wishes to traders in the lead up to Seollal, the Korean Lunar New Year.

Meanwhile, the 'Flower Road' volunteer activity is part of the Shincheonji Church's efforts to strengthen communication with the local community and fulfil its social responsibility through continuous volunteer activities.
