Members of Shincheonji Volunteer Group Suji Branch ‘Drop Sweat’ During Snow Removal at Yongin Lawn Bowling Stadium
On the 2nd December, the Suji branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group is carrying out snow removal service around the lawn bowling stadium in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province |
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the volunteers who worked hard to clear the snow.”
Young-du Kim, President of the Yongin City Lawn Bowls Association for the Disabled, expressed his gratitude to the members of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Suji Branch for carrying out a snow removal service in Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, on the 27th and 28th of last month.
The stadium is used by local members of the Bowls Association for physical training and match practice, and they were visiting the stadium every day to participate in the lawn bowls competition held in 2025.
However, several days of heavy snowfall left a lot of snow on the road to the stadium, making it difficult for people with disabilities who use cars or wheelchairs to enter and exit the stadium.
Accordingly, the volunteers of the Suji branch rolled up their sleeves in the sub-zero temperatures and shovelled snow that had piled up everywhere from the car park to the uphill road leading to the stadium and even to the stadium itself.
Meanwhile, this volunteer activity is part of the nationwide 'Green Nature' campaign of Shincheonji Volunteer Group. The campaign is purposed to preserve a beautiful nature for posterity by carrying out wetland conservation activities, environmental cleanups to protect major facilities and cultural assets, disaster recovery activities, public awareness campaigns for environmental protection, and the creation of flower paths in waste dumping areas.
