Shincheonji Volunteer Group Mokpo Church Conducts 'Green Mokpo' Environmental Campaign

| The Mokpo branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group held its 'Green Mokpo' volunteer activity on the 11th, and around 100 members of the Mokpo branch cleaned 40 bus stops dirtied by heavy snowfall in the area around the bus terminal and Mokpo Station. |
“Every time I get to a bus stop, I see dirt covering the glass surfaces which I'm careful not to get on my clothes. Yet despite the cold weather, you've cleaned the area so well - thank you so much.”
To welcome the new year, the Mokpo branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group held its 'Green Mokpo' volunteer activity on the 11th, and a frequent bus traveller said this.
On this day, around 100 members of the Mokpo branch cleaned 40 bus stops dirtied by heavy snowfall in the area around the bus terminal and Mokpo Station. They removed illegal advertisements at bus stops and cleaned the bus shelter seating and facilities, so that citizens can benefit from public transportation in a clean and safe environment.
Despite the near-freezing temperatures, the volunteers worked with smiles.
Moreover, amid the ongoing climate crisis, the Mokpo branch ran a carbon neutrality campaign, informing members of the public and local businesses about the importance of reducing the use of disposable products, proper waste separation and disposal, and the benefits of the carbon neutrality points system.
An official of the Mokpo branch said, “This year, wherever a helping hand is needed, the Mokpo branch will actively engage in volunteer work with the community.”
