Inauguration Ceremony of Shincheonji Volunteer Group ‘Environmental Expert Guardians’ for Health of Mother Earth
“At a time when the climate crisis is of grave concern, it is our determination in this era to become a volunteer group that takes the lead in informing citizens of the need for carbon neutrality, waste reduction, and overcoming the climate crisis.”
On the 18th, the Seoul-Eastern Gyeonggi Branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group held an inauguration ceremony for 'Environmental Expert Guardians' for carbon neutrality and sustainable development goals (SDGs) at Shincheonji Seoul Church, with approximately 500 people in attendance, including journalists, heads of the Korean Red Cross and community heads, and the Director of the Seoul-Eastern Gyeonggi Branch set out the resolution above.
The main activities of the ‘Environmental Expert Guardians,’ which plans to achieve carbon neutrality to pass on a healthier Earth to posterity, includes waste reduction, recycling of resources, energy conservation campaigns, and active participation in community activities to raise citizens' awareness about the environment.
At this inauguration ceremony, the volunteers took an oath expressing their strong determination to protect the environment. Also, journalists from the major press were appointed as public relations ambassadors to promote the activities of the Environmental Volunteer Group.
In the words of the Director of the Environmental Volunteer Group, “The Environmental Guardians Volunteer Group goes beyond simple environmental protection activities and has a mission to pass on a better Earth to our future generations.”
Meanwhile, Shincheonji Volunteer Group, with love and peace as its basic spirit, carries out global social contribution projects in various fields, including the environment, veterans affairs, the disabled sector, public interest, and culture, transcending religion, race, and national borders.
