In response to the severe blood crisis that resulted from the prolonged coronavirus pandemic in South Korea, over 70,000 members of Shincheonji Youth Volunteer Group 'We Are One' (Director Jun-su Hong) stepped in and made the largest recorded group blood donation in history in late 2022.

Nearly one year on, Shincheonji Youth Volunteer Group We Are One Gangwon Branch held a blood donation campaign called 'Life ON Youth ON' in Wonju City on the 21st July.

In celebration of its first anniversary, We Are One Youth Volunteer Group launched a life-saving blood donation campaign called 'We Are Red'.

From that day to October 31st 2023, it is expected that around 40,000 young people across Korea will actively participate in the blood donation campaign.

About 100 college students belonging to the Gangwon branch also took the lead in the culture of blood giving at Wonju Express Bus Terminal and the Public Health Center in Wonju City, and an active campaign is scheduled next month to prevent blood supply shortages during the summer holidays.

Accordingly, the Gangwon branch plans to have 3443 young people participate in blood donation by the end of October.

Soo-min Jo, a member of We Are One who participated in a blood donation, said, “The needles can be a little frightening, but if you think about the fact that you can save a life by donating blood, you can only be grateful.”

Hyo-seong Lee, head of We Are One Gangwon branch, said, “We're pleased that young people can help the local community, and we will continue to actively participate in spreading love and saving lives through blood donations.”

Meanwhile, Shincheonji Youth Volunteer Group We Are One, which was launched on July 30 last year, conducted a nationwide life-sharing campaign called 'Life ON Youth ON' to solve the severe blood crisis in Korea, setting a world record with 100,360 people participating in a group blood drive in blood centres nationwide and 73,800 people successfully donating blood.
