[Cheonji Ilbo Gwangju = Reporter Mi-ae Lee] Shincheonji Youth Volunteer Group We Are One, Gwangju Branch (We Are One Gwangju) continues to participate in the 'Live ON Youth ON' blood donation campaign that was launched on August 27th.
This campaign, which was launched throughout South Korea at the same time as the launch of the youth volunteer group 'We Are One', was purposed to propagate a culture of protection and respect for life and to contribute to stabilising the blood supply in Korea.
We Are One, Gwangju branch, participated in the blood donation campaign with the aid of 7 bloodmobiles stationed outside the Korean Red Cross' Gwangju-Jeonnam branch in Maegok-dong, Buk district, Gwangju city, on the 8th, ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
On that day, a total of 384 youth members of We Are One Gwangju and representatives of Shincheonji Gwangju Church also participated in the blood donation campaign, adding to its significance.
A male member in his 20s who gave blood said, “I have been donating blood since I was in the military, and I'm always proud to know that my blood can save life. I believe that the world will become more beautiful if we continue to put this into practice.”

Seok-in Seo, head of the blood support team at Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Centre, said, “It is a great thing that so many people have become members of We Are One to practise love for our neighbours.”
With emotion, he said, “I was worried that the blood supply would be even scarcer given the coronavirus and the approaching holidays, but their blood donation will give life and strength to many people.”
A representative of We Are One Gwangju said, “The number of participants in the blood donation campaign, which was launched on August 27, has surpassed 18,000 nationwide in less than 10 days, and we are now looking at exceeding our target of 20,000 donors and reaching 30,000,” and added, “I'm learning that nothing is impossible if we gather our hearts.”

The representative continued, “Because our passing blood donation is a precious deed that gives and shares life, we will continue to actively participate in this work.”
Meanwhile, We Are One, which was launched on July 30, is the largest youth volunteer group in Korea with about 90,000 members. This blood donation campaign is underway with the goal of securing blood from a total of 70,000 donors with the participation of as many members as possible.
The blood donation activities of We Are One Gwangju have been conducted simultaneously at four blood donation centres in Gwangju City since August 27 (Jeondae Yongbong, Chungjang-ro, and cutting-edge blood donation centers).
Blood donation rights (cards and vouchers) generated through this campaign will be donated to institutions in need in consultation with Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Centre.
