Members of the Daegu branch of the youth volunteer group We Are One (hereinafter We Are One Daegu) held the 'We Are Red' blood donation campaign to mark the first anniversary of We Are One.

'We Are Red' is a blood donation project of We Are One Youth Volunteer Group, and is driven by the core mission statement to 'save life'.

On the 10th August, about 2000 members of We Are One Daegu participated in the blood donation.

An official from the We Are Red campaign said, “The blood donation campaign is being held from July to August because the number of blood donors is known to decrease during the holiday season and blood supply is difficult. We hope that citizens will take an interest in the blood donation and join us.”

Members of the We Are One youth volunteer group are writing messages of support for their neighbours on the 'Tree of Life that Adds Love' following a blood donation
We Are One member A, who participated in the blood donation, said, “As a Daegu citizen who lives nearby, I applied because I thought it would be meaningful to be able to participate in the gift of sharing life. I was able to donate blood by eating healthily and exercising. I'm proud to be able to do it.”

We Are One member B said, “I was quite sick (when I was young), and I really needed help. I participated because I wanted to help others. Anyone who is healthy can donate blood. I hope more people will participate.”

From the 21st of July to the 31st of October, about 40,000 young people nationwide are expected to participate in the 'We Are Red Blood Donation Campaign'.

In We Are One Daegu alone, a total of 2909 members donated blood, and 2238 successfully donated blood.

The We Are One 'Life ON Youth ON' campaign was launched nationwide in 2022 in order to resolve the blood supply crisis brought on by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. More than 100,000 people participated in the blood donation and 73,121 people successfully completed a blood donation, gaining official recognition by Guinness World Records.

The culture of blood giving is growing and is becoming a great example to the country and society.
