3012 members of Shincheonji Youth Volunteer Group We Are One Jeonbuk Branch donate blood
[Cheonji Ilbo, Jeonbuk=Reporter Dong-hyun Kim] The Jeonbuk branch of Shincheonji Youth Volunteer Group We Are One, which held the largest blood donation campaign in history, with 70,000 people donating blood in 85 days, had 3012 members donate blood through Jeonbuk Provincial Office on the 23rd. The announcement was made on the 26th.
The donation ceremony held at the Bureau of Welfare and Women's Health of Jeonbuk Provincial Office on that day was attended by Yeong-seok Kang, Director of Welfare and Women's Health, Won-il Moon, Director of Jeonbuk Blood Centre, Wang-joong Mun, auditor of Suwolhan Orthopedics, Byung-seol Yoo, Office Manager of Fruits of Love, and Se-woong Yoon, Director of We Are One Jeonbuk branch.
In collaboration with Jeonbuk Provincial Office, the 3012 blood donations will be distributed as follows: ▲1012 donations to the fruit of love ▲1500 donations to Jeonbuk Blood Center ▲500 donations to Suwolhan Orthopedics.
From August 27th to November 27th, 3800 members of We Are One Jeonbuk branch made donations through blood donation units and blood centres.
Yeong-seok Kang, Director of Welfare and Women's Health, Jeonbuk Province, said, “Blood is very precious because it gives life to critically unwell patients, and as it is something that cannot be produced by humans, this blood donation drive has proven very necessary. Many people need blood transfusions, yet blood supplies are low.”
“This event, where many young people from Shincheonji Youth Volunteer Group We Are One willingly gave blood, is a very valuable service. On this occasion, many people, without fail, have shown their desire to donate blood and address the blood shortage.”
Won-il Moon, director of Jeonbuk Blood Center, said, “If it wasn’t for Shincheonji, there would have been a serious blood crisis. Due to COVID-19, the general number of blood donors has decreased significantly and blood reserves are highly insufficient, so the red light was issued. I am so grateful and thankful for their participation. We support and applaud the noble, selfless deeds of Shincheonji. We look forward to continuing our activities in the future.”
Wang-joong Moon, auditor of Suwolhan Orthopedics, said, “These beautiful, precious deeds of We Are One volunteer group will help save lives, and we will make sure that they are delivered where needed.”
Se-woong Yoon, Director of We Are One Jeonbuk branch, said, “We were able to donate because of the joyful hearts of the many members who actively participated in this act of sharing life.” “I heard that the blood supply is near-critical owing to COVID-19 and the bitter winter months, and so I hope this will help save the lives of many patients”, he said.
Meanwhile, Shincheonji Youth Volunteer Group We Are One, which was launched on July 30, 2022, carried out its 'Life ON Youth ON' life-sharing campaign nationwide to resolve the severe domestic blood shortage. More than 100,000 people participated in donating blood and more than 73,800 donors successfully donated blood.
