'We Are One' Youth Volunteer Group (Seoul-Gyeonggi & Ansan Branches) carry out flood recovery service with 'beads of sweat'
[Cheonji Ilbo Ansan = Correspondent Jeong-ja Kim] While Ansan City suffered significant damage to buildings due to record heavy rain, the youth volunteer group 'We Are One' (Seoul-Gyeonggi and Ansan Branches) and Shincheonji Volunteer Group worked together and sweated to restore the flooded area.
On the 12th, a house in Palgok-dong, Ansan city was filled with mud and dirt following the collapse of a nearby mountain that resulted from a torrential downpour of 420 mm of rain.
The vehicle in the front yard was covered with dirt, and the inside of the house was full of waste, so it was hard to tell what was what.
Soon after, the youth volunteer group 'We Are One' and Shincheonji Volunteer Group visited the site and used basic cleaning tools to scoop up waste with shovels and hands.
A homeowner who was present said, “I am grateful for the quick clean-up operation in spite of the fact there was so much waste everywhere.”

'We Are One' volunteers, who were volunteering at six flooded homes, said, “When we began the flood recovery service and saw the site, we learned firsthand of the magnitude of the damage.”
Meanwhile, 'We Are One' and Shincheonji Volunteer Group carried out further volunteer work in the Sasa-dong area, where houses and farms had been damaged due to heavy rain and the nearby river on the 16th.
This flood recovery service is being carried out in Seoul, Gyeonggi province, Gwangju, Seongnam, Ansan, and Yeoju, starting on the 10th, in collaboration between the 'We Are One' Youth Volunteer Group and Shincheonji Volunteer Group. Volunteers will continue to provide flood recovery and waste disposal services until the 20th.
