The We Are One Youth Volunteer Group collaborated with the Korean Red Cross to address the domestic low blood supply, which is most prevalent in the holiday season. Moreover, education was conducted to encourage young people to participate in blood donation.

On the 27th July, the We Are One Seoul and Gyeonggi Southern Region Branch, South Korea, invited Jin-seong Jang, head of the safety policy team at the Blood Management Headquarters of the Korean Red Cross, to prepare an event to educate on giving blood. On that day, about 40 young people from We Are One participated.

Team leader Jang provided education from various angles, including basic information about blood, how collected blood is used, the advantages of blood donation, and precautions before blood donation.

Donghyun Jang (male, 26), a member of We Are One, said, “As a blood donor, I didn't really know where and how my blood was used, so it was good to know how it is being used to save lives.”

Another member, Na-ra Shin (female, 27), said, “It was helpful because he carefully informed us of things I was curious about from a blood donor's point of view and the necessary precautions before and after donating blood. I was actually fearful of drawing blood, but this education provided by the Korean Red Cross helped. It was professionally carried out, and delivered in such a way so as to make me feel comfortable about giving blood.”

We Are One will promote the life-sharing campaign '2023 Life ON Youth ON' until October to resolve the blood supply shortage due to the decrease in blood donations during the July-August holiday season. According to We Are One, as of the 27th July, a week after the start of the blood donation campaign, a total of 11,979 people participated in blood donation and 9426 people successfully completed a blood donation.

Meanwhile, We Are One, comprised of young volunteers, contributed to solving the domestic blood supply shortage by launching the blood donation campaign 'Life ON Youth ON' of 70,000 people over 85 days in 2022.

In addition, a total of 71,121 volunteers registered as online blood donor applicants within 24 hours, and it was listed in the Guinness World Records.
